Catherine Grealish is a composer for film, media and live performance who has experience in a wide range of musical genres.
She had an orchestral work "Artist and The Muse" performed recently at Benaroya Hall and continues to be involved in numerous film projects and live performances. Her work "For those who have walked ahead" will be premiering at Benaroya Recital Hall as part of Celebrate World Music on March 24, 2013.
A multi-instrumentalist, she has studied classical voice, and plays violin, piano, and guitar.
Her music has been featured in award-winning films, including the shorts Reversal (Post Alley Film Festival 2012) and Ego Boost which won the 3 Minute Masterpiece competition at the Seattle International Film Festival.
She has also scored many other independent films including Revelation, After All This, A Musing and Playfish.
She completed her Bachelor of Music at Cornish College of the Arts with a focus on Jazz composition and performance, studying with Jim Knapp. Catherine then graduated with a Master of Music from Boston University.
She also studied at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring program taught by composer Tim Huling and Emmy-winning composer Hummie Mann.
Catherine was born in Tasmania, Australia. She moved to the United States in 1998 to pursue a career in music.
